ToolboxPack 3.7
The ToolboxPack is a plug-in for Mac OS (only) and 4D (2004/v11 SQL). It contains more than 130 useful routines.

Specific since ToolboxPack 3.7 This version 3.7 uses the ".bundle" format, Universal Binaries, compatible only with 4D 2004 and 4D v11 SQL. Some routines become deprecated and some are not implemented in this version: please, read the upgrade manual. Previous versions (less or equal to 3.6.n) do not work with 4D v11 under Mac Intel (except if 4D is executed in Rosetta, PowerPC emulator) |

Version 3.5 is released September, 15 2004
- Version 3.5 contains new routines that dramatically enhance the user interface: hierarchical popup menus built from a list (with the icons), standard navigation dialogs (choose file, folder, disk), create « Metal » windows, get/receive parameters with your AppleEvents, etc.
- Upgrade from previous version is commercial, a new serial number is required. The upgrade is free for customers who bought the ToolboxPack after july, 21 2004 (included).

The ToolboxPack holds 140 utility routines
(See the List of routines)- AppleEvent : allows 4D to be controlled via AppleEvent, using AppleScript
- AppleScript : Read, translate, compile and execute scripts from 4D.
- BLOBs : Blob/unblob records
- Clipboard : save and restore the clipboard
- Files: standard dialogs, select several files, convert path
- Interface and miscellaneous : hide/show cursor, color-flash a rectangle, "choose color" standard dialog, dynamic tip, text height/width,
- Keyboard : get "escape" or any key without installing a heavy handler
- Menus : dynamic customization (new menu, change font and style, create hierarchical)
- OS Process : informations about other running applications, extensions
- Pictures : flip a picture, get a pixel in a picture, crop a picture
- Popup-menus : from resources, with dynamic font and size, hierarchical
- QuickTime : sample movie reader with or without the controler bar
- RotatedStrZone : rotate a string 90° left or right
- Windows : some routines that do no exist in 4D. Change Alpha chanel, set the "modified" button, collapse a windows
- Mac OS X specific stuff ! Native controls, alpha windows, toolbar button, boune in doc, get PDFs, lot, lot of interface stuff.
Version history
- Version 3.3.2 was released on october, 7 2004
- This version fixes a bug that occured in this situation: get an AppleEvent + 4D Server + compiled structure. In this case, the callback method was not executed.
- Version 3.3 was released on june, 15 2003
- This version contains new OS X plugin areas such as Bevel buttons, push button with icon and Relevance bar. Plus, routines to handle those areas and the OS X windows, a new Icon area, the Toolbar Butoon, and much more !
- Version 3.2 was released on april, 15 2003
- It brings lot of new features specifics to mac OS X such as the "sheet alerts",viewing PDFs, drawing pictures on the 4D icon in the dock. It also brings new controls such as the chasing arrows and the disclosures objects.
- Some other routines are not specifics to OS X, such as collapse/expand windows (in the Dock under OS X, ar to their title bar under OS 9), fade the screen in or out, etc.
Licensing (tax-free prices):
ToolboxPack runs only under Mac OS. A stub for Windows is provided, for cross platform compilation.
IMPORTANT: starting with version 3.7, licensing scheme is easier.

- With one licence, you can develop and deploy the plug-in in your applications
- You need one license per developer. The licence is personnal and not transferable. It can be used only in the developments created by the owner
